In terms of educational quality, UK universities are regularly regarded among the best in the world, but they are also among the most expensive to attend. Don't give up, though, because there are various UK scholarships for overseas students that you may apply for to fix your financial troubles quickly. To begin, you should understand what to expect when studying in the United Kingdom. Following a federal ruling in 2017, UK universities are now permitted to charge tuition fees to their home and EU students, up to €9,250 per academic year (the highest that ever was at UK universities). Meanwhile, tuition prices in the UK for non-EU foreign students are far higher, with some degrees costing more than £50,000 per academic year. If you are an EU student, you can use student loans; but, if you are a non-EU or non-EEA student, you will need financial aid. The following universities in the United Kingdom offer scholarships to international students:

  1. University of East London: If you apply to this university, you must submit a complete application and we will evaluate your application based on our internal criteria. Scholarships range from £1,000 to £3,000, which are deducted from your first year's tuition (depending on your course program). If you are offered a seat and are found to be eligible for an abroad scholarship, the amount of the award will be mentioned in your offer letter. Furthermore, foreign Scholarships are offered at the discretion of the University and are only available to fee-paying overseas students participating in an undergraduate or postgraduate taught program.
  2. Care Leaver Bursary: Undergraduate students leaving local government care and enrolling at the University of Greenwich are eligible for the Care Leaver Bursary, which is worth £1,500 a year. This bursary is part of their commitment to expanding access to and participation in higher education. For three or four years, it is worth up to £1,500 every year (depending on the length of your course). It is paid in cash and does not have to be repaid. In their last year, students will get an additional £200 to help with the costs of attending graduation. Students must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Care Leaver Bursary:
  • You are a student in the United Kingdom who is under the age of 25.
  • You have been in the care of the local authority for at least 52 weeks prior to beginning your University of                       Greenwich study.
  • You are a first-year undergraduate student at one of our three campuses or Partner Colleges, and your tuition is paid directly to the University of Greenwich.
  • You are eligible for the maximum amount of means-tested government maintenance or special assistance funds.
  1. Nottingham Trent University: The NTU Excellence Scholarships are worth 50% or 25% of your tuition fees. These are given to undergraduate and postgraduate students who have demonstrated outstanding academic success as well as the ability to contribute to the university community. Additionally, their International Scholarships are valued up to £3,000 and are given to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to their studies. Before applying for a scholarship, you must have an offer to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course with us. This scholarship program is competitive, and scholarships are awarded to applicants who most closely meet or surpass the criteria for the grant.
  2. Academic Excellence Award: Coventry University is proud to provide Academic Excellence Scholarships to EU students who have excelled academically. They provide £1,500 living expense scholarships to the best and brightest EU students studying in an EU country. The scholarship is paid directly to the student in two installments. The prize is open to all EU students applying for their first year of full-time education. The scholarships are offered on a first-come, first-served basis to candidates based on their academic merit.
  3. University of Hertfordshire: The institution believes that anyone who works hard or demonstrates exceptional talent should be rewarded. Herts offers a variety of non-repayable scholarships and bursaries to deserving students. Some financial assistance opportunities are directly supported by the University. Others are sponsored by their business and professional partners, funded through philanthropic donations, or are part of a government programme (e.g. the NHS Learning Support Fund).
  4.  International Merit Scholarship: International students who have excelled academically and distinguished themselves from their peers are eligible for the International Merit Scholarship. This grant is open to undergraduate, postgraduate, and research students. Those with a 2:1 who apply for a postgraduate in the UK taught degree will receive £2,000, while students with a 2:2 will receive £1,000. Furthermore, if you are taking an undergraduate or postgraduate taught degree at Anglia Ruskin University, you will be eligible for the scholarship in your first year. If you are enrolled in a research programme, the university will provide you with a scholarship for each year you pay full tuition fees, up to a total of three years.

Finally, tuition and student loans should not deter you from following your dream of studying abroad. As a result, the United Kingdom possesses some of the world's highest-ranked institutions, yet this comes with a cost.
